Bryan Nelson is currently serving his second term in the Florida House of Representatives, representing the people of District 38. District 38 includes northwest Orange County.

Since being elected in 2006, Bryan has many accomplishments to his name. In his first year, he passed three bills that were signed by Governor Charlie Crist (HB 1199, CS/SB 1952, and HB 1415) and was elected to be the Orange County Legislative Delegation Vice-Chairman. He is Vice Chair of General Government Policy Council, a member of the Committee on Insurance, Economic Development Policy Committee, Government Operations Appropriations Committee and Insurance Business and Financial Affairs Policy Committee.

Rep. Nelson has been recognized for his outstanding service during his pas three sessions by receiving an "A" rating by the Florida Chamber of Commerce (2007), an "A" rating from the Christian Coalition of Florida, and a 96% rating by Associated Industries of Florida (2007). He recognizes that his most important duty in Tallahassee is to represent and serve the people of District 38.

Bryan is also involved in numerous civic and community organizations. He is a member of the Orange County Community Action Board, a member of Habitat for Humanity and past Chairman of the Orange County Zoning Board. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Apopka and was recognized as Rotarian of the Year and as a Paul Harris Fellow. Nelson is also a past president and member of the Apopka Chamber of Commerce.

Born and raised in Apopka, Bryan understands the issues affecting District 38 everyday. After finishing at Apopka High School, Bryan graduated from the University of Florida. While in Gainesville he met his wife of 28 years, Debbie Herndon Nelson. After college, the Nelson's moved back to Apopka where Bryan helped grow the family business, Nelson's Florida Roses. During this time Bryan served as Florida Foliage Association member, board member, and president. He also served on the Florida Ag Council. Today, Representative Nelson is President of Nelson's Insurance services, a full service commercial personal insurance company with an emphasis on the needs of small agriculture businesses.

Of his many accomplishments, Bryan is most proud of his children, Reed and Linda, both of whom are graduates of the University of Florida.
